The Cities

In this region, cities are a great engine for the economy and have become hubs for several flourishing economic sectors. In this area of the country, you will find cities that are recognized worldwide for their beauty and the momentum they have recently gained. Discover some of them.

1. Cartagena

This city, also known as La Heroica, is one of the treasures of the country of beauty. Besides, Cartagena has fascinating tourist attractions, such as La ciudad amurallada (Walled City) or the Castle of San Felipe, and has developed an entire infrastructure for the transportation of goods with nearby Colombian ports.

The city is a center for business as it has become a meeting hub, where businessmen from many countries are coming to develop their business. Also, the city has a whole

infrastructure designed for the Colombian tourism industry, an aspect in which Cartagena stands out.

2. Barranquilla

Barranquilla, the capital of the Atlántico department, has innumerable attractions for a foreign investor. The beauty of the city lies precisely in the fact that it’s the place that receives and exports the merchandise that circulates in Colombia, showing the world the quality of Colombian origin goods. This is why many people call it the country's golden gateway.

Its port infrastructure and the talent of its people make it an attractive destination for business. In addition, the city has become a sports hub for the country, not only for being the home of the Colombian National Team, but also for the interest it has shown in regional and global sporting events.

3. Santa Marta

Santa Marta is another city that contributes to this vibrant region. It has recently stood out for its tourist offer, reaching milestones such as the arrival of cruise ships to the area thanks to its infrastructure and by offering fascinating experiences to tourists. The city is close to magical places such as the Tayrona National Park, the Lost City and Taganga, a destination that has recently stood out for the beauty of its beaches. For all this, the city has developed a great hotel infrastructure, focusing part of its economy in the tourism sector.

4. San Andrés

Renewable energy and energy transition

The Greater Colombian Caribbean has become the witness and the engine of the great transformation that has taken place with the energy transition. Year after year, news of new solar plants and wind projects in this region reaches the whole country, thanks to the power of the sun and the strength of the wind that is experienced in this area.

If you want to invest in renewable energy projects, you should know that these natural characteristics have given Colombia the potential to produce the fourth most competitive green hydrogen in the world. This has become a national project in the long and medium term.

In addition, the renewable energy sector is driven by Colombian policies that seek to promote sustainable investments in the country, offering facilities and advantages to foreign investors, wishing to promote sustainable projects and investments in the country of beauty.

In the Greater Colombian Caribbean, behind paradisiacal beaches and vibrant cities, there are countless opportunities for investments in solar energy and for foreign investors seeking profitability in their businesses and looking for a place to grow in sectors such as renewable energy or tourism.
